Temporary Traffic Management Training – Marlborough | Tauihu
Like many parts of New Zealand, several NZTA state highways transit through Marlborough, which as a region also boasts some 1,500 kilometres of local roading (managed by Marlborough roads on behalf of the Marlborough District Council).
NZTA managed State Highways in the region include:
- SH 1 (Picton to Christchurch)
- SH 6 (Blenheim to Nelson)
- SH 63 (Renwick to the West Coast)
- SH 62 (Rapaura Road) – added in July 2004 and connects Spring Creek on SH 1 to SH 6 north of Renwick
In addition to the upkeep and maintenance of these State Highways, one of the biggest challenges facing the region is the fact that many remote roads (including most roads in the outer Marlborough Sounds) are largely unsealed.
It’s no wonder that career opportunities in the construction and roading industry are one of the most viable in the Marlborough region.
Traffic Controller (TC) and Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) Training & Qualifications
Providers of temporary traffic management solutions and services have a duty-of-care to guarantee their staff hold valid Traffic Controller or Site Traffic Management Supervisor warrants.
Remember, if a warrant is even 1 day overdue, you can be issued non compliances (or even ordered to shut down) by the local Road Controlling Authority (RCA) for failing to comply with the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management (CoPTTM).
