Site Traffic Management Specialist – Category A/B/C (non-practicing – refresher)
The STMS A/B/C Non-practicing – Refresher course is only for those with a current or recently expired (with the last 12 months) L1, or 2/3 STMS Warrant, and wish to continue to be able to actively manage worksites at the new A, B or C levels.
Assessed through Unit Standards 31962.
Who is it for ?
The STMS NP A/B/C – R is only for those with a current or recently expired (with the last 12 months) L1, or 2/3 STMS Warrant, and wish to continue to be able to actively manage worksites at the new A, B or C levels.
You will then need to complete the practical assessment for the Category of road/s you wish to qualify for.
Any there any prerequisites ?
You should be a current (or expired within the last 12 months) L1 or L2/3 STMS.
NOTE: If you are a L1 or L2/3 STMS and have expired for more than 12 months, you must complete the new STMS Universal course first, then proceed through the STMS A and/or B and/or C theory, followed by the Practicing assessment for the relevant road categories.

What does it teach you to do ?
When completed the STMS NP A/B/C – R training provides the learner with the necessary updates relating to:
- changes under the new Waka Kotahi NZTA Training and Competency model, and how they relate to their qualification
- update and reminders of the key requirements for planning, managing and setting out worksites on Cat A/B/C roading environments.
- how to locate information in the CoPTTM relating to Cat A/B/C roading environments.
