If your Wellington based business provides temporary traffic management solutions and / or staff to work on these projects, it is a requirement that a thorough Traffic Management Plan (TMP) – developed by a suitably qualified Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) – be submitted to the appropriate relevant Road Controlling Authority (RCA).
Huge Opportunities across Wellington, Porirua, Kapiti and The Hutt Valley in the Temporary Traffic Management Field
Home to the centre of government, Wellington – the Coolest Little Capital in the World! – receives a significant level of funding across a wide range of public transport roading, cycling and walking projects.
In addition to the huge Transmission Gully project (due to be completed in 2010), which follows hot on the heels of the recently opened MacKay’s to Peka Expressway, NZTA have also recently announced funding for the region encompassing:
- $1.92 billion in total, invested over three years
- $759 million to maintain and improve existing highways
- $614m for public transport
- $332m for local roads
- $83m for cycling and walking
- $43m in safety upgrades for SH58
It is fair to say that locals across the Greater Wellington region can expect a great deal more Temporary Traffic Management in the short to mid-term.
Ensure Your Staff Are Fit, Ready & Able for the Forthcoming Traffic Controller & Site Traffic Management Supervisor Opportunities Throughout The Wellington Region
Ensuring your staff hold current, valid temporary traffic management certifications, such as Traffic Controller (TC) and Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS), has never been more essential.
It is necessary for all staff who perform these roles to be suitably trained and accredited, in order to adequately and safely maintain work sites within the CoPTTM guidelines.
In addition to TC and STMS courses and qualifications, TTM Training and Compliance are also able to provide training for Kerbside Collection Traffic Leaders (KCTLs). In Wellington, it is a requirement that drivers of mobile waste collection vehicles be KCTL certified within four months of commencement of employment.
