Work continues under the Waikato Regional Transport Committee’s 2015-2045 plan. This Plan sets out how the region’s land transport system will evolve over the next 30 years. It also identifies proposed regional transport activities for investment (local and central government) over the next six years.
Key to the region is the Waikato Expressway continuation, and major safety improvement projects such as SH2 Mangatarata to Paeroa, and SH1 Piarere to Taupo, and Taupo to Waiouru, amongst many others.
